Senior Property Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $90,000 to $110,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of properties, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month end close processes.
• Prepare and review expense allocations, tenant billings, and reconciliations to ensure accurate cost recovery and reporting.
• Maintain accruals, prepaid expense schedules, and related accounting records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies while partnering with property management, leasing, and finance teams.
• Prepare financial analyses, reporting packages, and supporting schedules while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property accounting environments.
• Strong understanding of property accounting, tenant billing, accrual accounting, and financial reporting processes.
• Previous experience with property management or real estate accounting software platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.

• Knowledge of lease agreements and the financial impact of lease terms on billing and property operations.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex reconciliation issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
