Changing Tides Therapy Services is seeking a skilled and passionate Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our dynamic team. Minimum Skills and Qualifications: - Licensure: Current and valid Alaska license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and comply with State of Alaska licensure requirements. - Certification: Active ASHA certification and in good standing - Passion for Pediatric Care: Demonstrated dedication and enthusiasm for working with children and helping them reach their functional goals. - Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and team members. - Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adjust treatment plans based on individual client needs and progress. - Empathy and Compassion: Strong interpersonal skills and empathy to understand and support the unique challenges children and their families may face. - Creativity: Capacity to develop engaging and fun therapy sessions that motivate children to actively participate in their treatment. Job Responsibilities: - Supervision: collaborate with assigned Speech-Language Pathologist surrounding treatment provision. - Therapy Sessions: Provide engaging and effective occupational therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques and play-based interventions. - Progress Monitoring: Work with assigned Speech-Language Pathologist to regularly monitor and document a child's progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. - Family Collaboration: Involve families in the therapy process, providing support, education, and guidance to extend therapeutic gains into daily routines. - Collaborative Approach: Work closely with other therapists and professionals within the clinic and community to provide integrated care and interdisciplinary support. - Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of daily treatment sessions. - Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pediatric occupational therapy through continuing education and training.
