Position: NICU Registered Nurse

Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified NICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to neonates in a level III and level IV NICU environment, demonstrating skills in complex patient management including those under 28 weeks gestation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for neonates, ensuring a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio.
• Monitor and manage critically ill infants with a variety of diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids.
• Conduct assessments, interpret diagnostics, and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory and social services.
• Float to Nursery and Pediatric Unit as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a NICU setting.
• Certifications: Current BLS and NRP required.
• Licensure: Must possess a valid California nursing license.
• Skills: Proficient in neonatal care, including but not limited to:



• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Placement and management of tubes (oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal)
• Arterial and central line care
• Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Unit Details:

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates and Infants
• Average Daily Census: 35 patients
• Bed Capacity: 53 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 during days and nights

Additional Information:

Candidates will be expected to adhere to a strict dress code policy, which includes:

• No facial hair
• No acrylic nails
• No unnatural hair colors
• All tattoos must be covered
• No visible body piercings other than earrings, which should not extend beyond the earlobe or be hoop earrings.
