Director of Plant Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Plant Operations to oversee all aspects of plant, facilities, and environmental services operations across multiple healthcare and skilled nursing locations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring facilities meet all regulatory, safety, and operational standards while fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, organization, and management of plant operations, maintenance, environmental services, and safety programs across multiple facilities.

• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, CMS, Joint Commission, and Department of Health guidelines.

• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

• Manage facility budgets, capital improvement projects, and vendor relationships.

• Implement best practices in facilities management, sustainability, and energy efficiency initiatives.

• Lead and develop facility managers, maintenance technicians, and environmental services personnel.

• Coordinate life safety, emergency preparedness, and disaster response planning.

• Support new construction, renovation, and facility expansion projects to ensure timely and compliant completion.

• Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure the physical environment supports quality patient care and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

• 8+ years of leadership experience in plant operations, facilities management, or environmental services within healthcare, long-term care, or another highly regulated industry.

• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, NFPA Life Safety Code, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.

• Proven experience managing large teams, multiple facilities, and capital improvement projects.

• Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment.
