Store Manager in Training -3378 Circle K – Coastal Carolina BU - Region 03 - Market 03: 1279 Broad St, Sumter, South Carolina 29150 Shift Availability: Flexible Availability Job Type: Full‑time Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred. Experience in retail sales preferred. Ability to perform essential duties described below. Ability to supervise and train employees, use equipment listed in CSR and ASM job description. Ability to use computer for reports, inventory control, cash control, counseling notices, etc. A valid driver’s license and adequate transportation. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills: Leadership and Management Recruit, hire and train positive, enthusiastic employees, ensuring excellent customer service. Develop, manage and assign tasks to maintain a clean, stocked, organized site per company standards. Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors. Schedule employees within company guidelines to maximize customer service and maintain site image. Implement non‑discriminatory management skills when hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees. Site Relationships Develop positive relationships with all suppliers. Promote excellent service and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally. Promote and ensure a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community. Training and Development Prepare timely performance appraisals in writing for all employees, providing proper performance‑based feedback. Train employees on customer service, site image, marketing execution and safety procedures, promote safety awareness. Communication Ensure all employees receive proper communication in a timely manner. Establish periodic ongoing communication meetings with all site employees and the Market Manager. Organizing and Planning Evaluate and develop action plans to address site needs and objectives. Organize and maintain all site files and manuals. Supervise store employees to ensure accurate, timely report completion. Ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed and priced correctly. Ensure required employment posters and signs are accessible to all employees. Financial Analyze daily sales and expense information, take action to maximize sales and net profit. Budget and forecast P&L lines, understand and manage merchandise margins. Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed. Perform other financial analyses necessary to maximize sales and net profits. Working Conditions Work primarily indoors, but required to work outside for parking lot cleaning, gas pumps, garbage, etc. Be exposed to occasional cold temperature extremes while supervising employees in walk‑in coolers/freezers. Be exposed to occasional noise. Work with minimal direction and supervision. Always work as an effective manager, supervisor and leader.
