Warehouse Pallet Inspector

Position Description Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector/Material Handler at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Salary & Schedule Hourly Pay $20.00 per hour, with potential $2.00 increase after 90 days Schedule: Second Shift Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm Benefits On the Job Paid Training Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) etc. Start at 30 days Paid Time Off 401(k) offers a company match Employee Stock options with 15% employee discount Employee Discounts on tools, cars, hotels, electronics, cell phones, travel, etc. Safety Gear Provided Safety is the First Priority State-of-the-Art Equipment and Caring Leadership Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry or Manufacturing environment preferred Ability to comprehend basic math Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to work within a diverse work environment Highly thorough and dependable Must be punctual and have a good attendance record Performs work independently with minimal supervision Possesses a high degree of initiative Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Be a team player Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization Operate power equipment in a safe manner Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch frequently Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day) Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned. Responsibilities Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards. Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the palamatic machine. Ensure proper inspection and separation is met. Conduct physical inventories as required. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards. Wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets. Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract. Perform other duties as assigned.
