Our Honeybee Robotics team in Altadena is seeking candidates to join our cooperative education program with a focus on mechanical engineering. In the role, your daily responsibilities will involve actively supporting the design, development, fabrication, and testing of various mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical systems. You will have the opportunity to learn through hands‑on experience and make a tangible, positive contribution to our technology development efforts. Special mentions: This is an onsite role at our Altadena, CA location. This is a ~5 month co‑op from January to June 2027. Responsibilities: Support systems design, development, fabrication, and testing of various mechanical systems. Embrace a hands‑on learning approach and aspire to make a meaningful and impactful contribution to product development. Draft, update, and procure with technical documents (mechanical part and assembly drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc). Original part design and/or selection of commercially available off‑the‑shelf (COTS) components. Minimum qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Hands‑on experience working with hardware: mechanical assembly (fastening, power‑tools, machining) and/or electrical workmanship (wiring, soldering, crimping), etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired qualifications: Completion of a course or experience in one or more of the following areas: Strength of Materials, Statics/Dynamics, Basic Control Theory, Motor Control.
