Position: Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurology and experience in treating complex patient populations including those recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, cancer rehab, and orthopedic conditions.

Shift Information

Shift Type: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 AM - 04:30 PM)
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care settings, especially in neuro rehabilitation.
Licensure: Current California Occupational Therapy License is required.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Charting System Experience: Familiarity with Epic or similar charting systems is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Provide occupational therapy services to patients in an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Utilize adaptive equipment and techniques to enhance patient recovery and rehabilitation.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists and speech language pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Educate patients and their families on therapeutic activities and home safety measures.

Located in Oakland, CA, this busy inpatient rehabilitation department serves a wide range of patients, providing essential rehabilitation services for various conditions.

Additional Information

Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with a daily census of approximately 7-10 patients.
Interdisciplinary Support: Active collaboration with physical therapists and speech language pathologists.
