Your impact We're seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our design team in Philadelphia, PA. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in our Cities and Places team. You'll impact the world around you by solving real-life challenges, designing buildings and spaces in the Higher Education, Life Sciences, and Corporate Commercial sectors helping clients capitalize on emerging trends in built environments.What you'll doLead mechanical engineering aspects of complex design projects, both new and renovations of existing buildings, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client specificationsCollaborate with full-service teams of architects, engineers and clients to develop innovative solutionsPerform detailed engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisionsCreate and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reportsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineersInteract with clients to understand requirements and present engineering solutionsConduct site assessments and field investigations as neededSupport project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planningStay current with emerging technologies and industry best practicesRepresent Jacobs in person and on site with new and potential clients within local marketsSupport proposal development, client relationship management, and strategic pursuits withing the Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic markets. Here's what you'll need Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) registration required; Pennsylvania registration preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity10+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role focused on building systems designDemonstrated expertise across our market sectors (Higher Education, Science & Research, Corporate Commercial)Proficiency with engineering design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace 3D Plus, Selection Software, etc.)Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinkingStrong project management capabilities including outstanding communication and interpersonal skillsIdeally, you’ll also haveBusiness ties and network connections to the Philadelphia communityAbility to travel for work in the region and to collaborate with other Jacobs officesEngagement in professional networksExperience in the design of Mission Critical facilities#LI-KD1Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
