Experienced Construction Estimator

Experienced construction estimator needed for steel contractor doing structural and miscellaneous steel for various commercial and industrial projects, government contracts, high-rise buildings, apartment complexes, restaurants, and sports fields.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.

This is an in-house position, not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and compile cost data to ensure a high-quality bid
• Produce detailed bids using company specific format that clearly identifies project scope and includes accurate materials, shop and field labor
• Develop competitive bids using Tekla/PowerFab software
• Review bids with project managers and perform project hand-offs that convey scope

Key Skills:

• Strong computer skills with the ability to use or learn Tekla/PowerFab software
• Experience with structural steel and miscellaneous metals
• Fluent in both architectural and structural bid documents
• Highly organized with the ability to communicate information in a clear and precise manner
• A person with the drive to build relationships and sell the job after the bid
• Detail-oriented with solid time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to manage and balance multiple projects
• Knowledge of AISC and AWS Standards
