HVAC Maintenance Technicians – Bay City – Onsite
Position: Full-Time HVAC Maintenance Technicians (2 Openings)
Shift: First Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday)
Wage: $41.25 per hour
Location: Bay City Plant
The Bay City Plant is seeking a full time employee primary point of contact for all HVAC-related maintenance and service needs throughout the facility. These roles operate on first shift, with occasional 24-hour emergency response required for critical system failures (such as heating outages during winter or process chiller failures impacting production). Staffing Requirements
For safety and operational coverage on rooftop systems, two personnel are required at all times:
  • One full-time Licensed Journeyman HVAC Technician
Daily Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing start-of-shift HVAC system inspections using the building management system (BMS) computer provided on-site
  • Attending daily morning coordination meetings to review priorities with plant management
  • Managing a self-directed workload including:
    • Preventive maintenance (PM) tasks
    • Work orders (via Maximo or equivalent system)
    • Unscheduled heating/cooling service calls
    • Support of production-related chiller systems
    • Emergency HVAC repairs and response
  • Maintaining standard working hours aligned with plant operations (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday)
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency HVAC support
  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication with plant management regarding priorities, status updates, and service requests throughout the day
  • Documenting end-of-shift notes in Microsoft Teams for transparency and continuity
  • Supporting additional project work as assigned; any approved project work will be quoted and billed under separate labor and material line items
  • Leveraging journeyman-level HVAC expertise for technical guidance related to air exchange rates, air quality standards, and system performance requirements
PPE Requirements
  • FR-rated pants and long-sleeve shirt (8 cal minimum)
  • Non-slip safety boots
  • Safety glasses and ear protection (provided on-site)
  • Cold-weather gear suitable for rooftop work during winter conditions
  • Boot chains for winter roof access (provided on-site)
  • Fall protection equipment
Training / Certifications
  • Fall hazard awareness and protection
  • Aerial lift operation certification
  • Scissor lift operation certification
  • Utility or burden carrier (or equivalent small transport vehicle) operation
