Estimator Position

Petersen Brothers Construction is looking for a dynamic experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team. A person in this position is responsible for providing overall on-site leadership for the team including supervision, schedule and financial management, subcontractor relations, and other related activities. We are looking for an Estimator to play a pivotal role in our preconstruction phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, analyzing specifications, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing. A person in this position will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop comprehensive and detailed cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation
• Utilize industry-standard methods to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope, materials, and labor requirements.
• Conduct thorough take-offs and quantify materials, labor, and equipment costs.
• Proposal Preparation
• Prepare comprehensive pricing proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure completeness and competitiveness.
• Team Involvement
• Providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment with a team of preconstruction professionals.
• Conduct training sessions and ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest industry trends and estimating techniques.
• Risk Assessment
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance project success.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication
• Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.
• Participate in kickoff meetings, site visits, and client presentations as necessary.

Qualifications Required

• • 5 years' of estimating experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred

• • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience ProCore, SmartBid, BlueBeam, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator with a focus on senior-level responsibilities
  • Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or similar business framework
  • Proficiency in project budget control
