Regional Operations Coordinator - Administrator IV

Position Overview This position supports region‑wide change initiatives and DYS policies and procedures. It provides leadership, coaching, and representation for the Division of Youth Services to partner agencies and internal committees, ensuring best practices and collaborative solutions across regional, behavioral health, and education sectors. Key Responsibilities Regional Practices Support – Ensure safety, permanency, and well‑being of adjudicated youth; develop and monitor case management tools; manage juvenile justice processes for AJO, violent offenders, and offense‑specific youth; apply Motivational Interviewing, family engagement, and victim‑offender dialogue best practices. DYS Representation & Decision Making – Participate in community forums and external committees; provide educational materials to contracted providers; represent DYS in parole hearings and inter‑agency collaboration; research and implement transition practices. Project Coordination & Staff Authority – Lead change initiatives with regional champions; coach and guide staff; provide on‑site support; analyze and recommend improvements to client management and parole systems. Policy and Procedure Development – Consolidate, streamline, and create division policy; ensure statewide consistency of client management and parole practice. Other Duties as Assigned – Support leadership directives, use Trails Mod for case management, and supervise regional staff as needed. Minimum Qualifications Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned; OR a combination of related education and experience equal to seven (7) years. Preferred Qualifications Experience in case management or the Juvenile Justice System; Knowledge of the Children’s Code and DYS policies. Google Workspace proficiency; knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma‑Informed Care. Program management experience involving multiple agencies, contractors, or organizations. Prior DYS regional experience. Conditions of Employment Comprehensive background checks (CBI, CITI, Drug Screen, PREA, etc.) and a valid Colorado driver’s license; vehicle use for state business. Minimum age 21 and travel across state‑wide regional offices. Completion of required training programs (DYS Pre‑service Training Academy, Field Training Program, mandatory annual training).
