At year-end 2024, the SBU recorded $1,391M in gross premium written.The Occupational Accident Profit Center is part of the Specialty Business Unit (SBU) within A&H and writes the following lines of business: Occupational Accident, Contingent Liability and Employers Liability, Non-Trucking Liability, and Physical Damage for Independent Contractors, with ancillary Workers' Compensation for employees. The target markets are the trucking industry and the Gig Economy.This position will be responsible for supporting the underwriting team through Commercial Auto Non-Trucking Liability, Auto Physical Damage and Workers Compensation rating activities, including premium calculation, policy setup, endorsements, and issuance support for commercial lines business written within the group. This role will provide critical technical expertise in rating, policy preparation, and quality review to help ensure accurate and timely handling of both new and renewal business while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.This is a hybrid role based in the greater Hartford/Glastonbury, CT area. If you have insurance experience or new to insurance, this is a great opportunity to come work for a Great Place to Work company.What you will do for C&F:Perform Commercial Auto Non-Trucking Liability, Auto Physical Damage and Workers Compensation related support functionsRate and compute premium on quotes, policies, and endorsementsRate Admitted and Non-Admitted Commercial Lines BusinessComplete endorsement quality control on all lines written within the groupComplete auto state vehicle reporting through ALIRTsComplete state filings: Form E, MD FR-19, etc.Support policy setup, binding, issuance, and booking activitiesReview policy data for accuracy and completeness across systems and applicable rating platformsProcess cancellations and non-renewals in systems and rating bureaus, as applicableSupport renewal business through the full workflow, including rating, quoting, binding, and bookingWork closely with the Underwriting team on new and renewal businessAssist with Workers' Compensation bureau-related tasks as neededHandle ad hoc projects and other operational assignments as requested by managementCommunicate internally and externally with agents and brokers regarding rating and policy processing mattersWhat YOU will bring to C&F:Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred2 to 4 years' of equivalent work experience or completion of an internship preferredCommercial Auto and/or Auto Liability rating experience strongly preferredCommercial Lines Rating Experience preferred: WC, NTL, PD, Auto, GL, Pkg, Admitted & Non AdmittedProficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Outlook, Excel, Word and Power PointStrong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skillsStrong demonstration of problem solving and analytical skillsA customer focused mentalityStrong analytical skillsHigh degree of organization to prioritize work and follow up on issuesWill abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F's risk management controls.Exceptional attention to detailOther duties as assignedWhat C&F will bring to youCompetitive compensation packageGenerous 401K employer matchEmployee Stock Purchase plan with employer matchingGenerous Paid Time OffExcellent benefits that go beyond health, dental & vision. Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $36,000.00 to a maximum of $67,800.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
