Sr. Systems Engineer - Remote

Salary: $92,000 - 118,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree with an IT focus or equivalent relevant work experience.
• We need five or more years of demonstrated experience designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting infrastructure software products.
• We require seven or more years administering Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) or load balancing hardware, including layer 4/layer 7 routing, PCAP analysis, and hardware refreshes and migrations.
• We require three or more years of experience with cloud migrations and transformations.
• We require three or more years managing SSL certificates.
• We require three or more years administering Fortinet FortiProxy Server or a similar solution, including firmware upgrades and patching.
• We require five or more years administering Citrix NetScaler, F5, or another ADC platform from an application delivery controller perspective, as well as cloud-native load balancing.
• We require seven or more years of experience administering ADCs and load balancers.
• We require five or more years supporting cloud-native load balancers such as GLB, NLB, and ALB.
• We require five or more years scripting for patching and vulnerability remediation.
• We need strong senior-level experience with ADC/load balancing and cloud migration, with AWS preferred.
• We require strong experience in both Windows and Linux environments.
• We require strong experience with vulnerability management and audit support.
• We require strong scripting and programming skills in one or more languages such as PowerShell, Java, or Python for audits and automated task scheduling.
• We require the ability to support systems through a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• We need competence working in environments highly integrated with an operating system.
• We require experience implementing and administering technical solutions in large-scale system implementations.
• We need strong critical thinking skills to assess alternatives and recommend solutions aligned with business goals and strategy.
• We require the ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• We need the ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.
• We require the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• We need proven leadership skills, including knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitating open discussions, fairness, and appropriate assertiveness.
• We require the ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly to audiences at all levels.
• Development experience is a plus.

• We perform installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned technology.
• We manage system and application environments as well as ongoing operations.
• We ensure technologies remain current, stable, compliant, and aligned to enterprise standards.
• We research, design, implement, and test technology solutions.
• We proactively monitor and report on the performance and utilization of assigned technologies.
• We troubleshoot software and hardware issues and failures.
• We resolve alerts and carry out remediation activities.
• We manage problem tickets, escalations, and out-of-cycle requests from systems and software owners.
• We collect and present data for reporting and planning.
• We assist in developing tactical strategies, processes, and procedures for systems and application administration.
• We determine migration and upgrade impacts and resolve complex technology and application errors.
• We collaborate with IT and business partners on workgroups and initiatives.
• We determine the best course of action to meet business needs.
• We may provide input into infrastructure architecture designs.
• We write programming and scripting code.
• We may participate in disaster recovery planning and exercises.
• We ensure execution aligns with architectural standards and blueprints.
• We may contribute input to infrastructure architecture.
• We perform on-call duties as needed for the environment and technologies.
