Unitizer Operator

Position Overview

To band stock and in-process bales correctly, securely, and neatly for storage or shipment.

Responsibilities

1) Following all safety, quality, and production procedures 2) Teamwork effort and involvement to meet all production goals 3) Checks for correct bottom sheets 4) Place top sheets to cover each unit per MacOps spec to prevent damages 5) Ensures the correct band placement on the units 6) Notifies supervisor or machine if tags are missing or loads are not correctly packaged 7) Helps in tagging, restacking, and removal of any non-conforming units 8) Maintain a clean and safe work environment through a "clean as you go attitude" 9) Assures that the unitizer (banding) is working correctly 10) Cuts top sheets as needed and maintains the organization of the top sheet area. 11) Determines the use of old stock (good or bad) that is placed in the area for the use of top sheets. 12) Perform other assigned duties by management.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. 0-1 year in a production environment, preferably in a corrugated box plant. Computer Skills, and ability to communicate with team members.
