Qualifications:
- Current certification to teach Special Education (or eligibility)
- Previous experience working with students with mild to moderate behavioral needs preferred
- Understanding of IEP development, modification, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Comfortable managing a self-contained classroom setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to a middle school caseload in a self-contained classroom
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ academic and behavioral goals
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in developing, updating, and executing IEPs
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to address different learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and track student progress, communicating updates to parents and stakeholders
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that supports student engagement and growth
