Finish Painter Operate and tend high volume low pressure (HVLP) pump-style spray guns to apply industrial grade finishes to tow trucks and other equipment ensuring a flawless high‑gloss finish. Key Responsibilities Sand and prepare surfaces for painting. Ensure surfaces are clean, smooth, and ready to accept new paint. Build a topcoat thickness for a high gloss finish. Read blueprints to understand parts and how they relate to each other. Inspect and evaluate the quality of the finished product. Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and according to specifications. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience. Proven experience as a painter with in‑depth knowledge of mixing and matching paint colors and chemicals. Proficient in setting up, using, and maintaining gravity‑fed HVLP guns and pump‑style spray systems. Excellent technique for polishing and buffing to achieve a flawless smooth result. Comprehension of technical documentation and instructions to ensure correct mixing ratios and application methods. Essential Physical Demands Regularly required to talk and hear. Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach. Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to wear a full‑face respirator with filtration during paint operations. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Characteristics Exposure to weather conditions; precipitation, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Ability to be frequently exposed to flashing lights. Required to wear personal protective equipment in designated areas.
