Clerical Assistant 2

Summary Become a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Department of Labor and Industry and support key policy functions within the State Workers Insurance Fund Underwriting Division. You will help process policy updates, support customer service requests, and keep information organized for the team. Your work will help ensure policies are managed efficiently and that inquiries are handled with care. Join an office that values dependability, teamwork, and strong organizational skills. Examples of duties Mail Processing: Review and sort daily mail, distribute documents, and prepare policy packets for mailing Policy Updates: Use the SMART System to update policy information such as addresses, ownership, identification numbers, and related details Data Entry: Enter Certificates of Insurance, Alternate Employers, and other required information into tracking systems Customer Assistance: Respond to calls and inquiries from brokers, policyholders, and other contacts regarding policy issues Report Handling: Review weekly and monthly reports, prepare updates, and assist with related documentation needs Record Maintenance: Manage broker and agent records by updating, merging, and correcting information as needed Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes). Qualifications Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. You must show initiative and problem-solving skills. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
