Primary Care Nurse

Primary Care nursing is a specialty within the nursing profession that encompasses the care of individuals across the life span who present with physical, emotional, or psychological alterations of health. Primary Care nurses provide episodic and chronic nursing care to patients of all ages and all health conditions remotely by telephone or web portal. The delivery of professional nursing care at Stormont Vail Health is guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring and the theory of Shared governance, both of which are congruent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• Experience in a clinic setting, past inpatient, and or procedural nursing experience. Preferred

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medication administration and equipment calibration. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required
• Basic Life Support - BLS RQI, CPR or ACLS certifications may be required in lieu of or in addition to BLS depending on department. Must have within 90 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Must have within 90 days of hire.

• Demonstrates advocacy in all roles and settings.
