Senior Mechanical EngineerOn-site in Braselton, GA | Greater Atlanta AreaCompensation: $110K - $140K base rangeOur client is a growing industrial equipment manufacturer seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who enjoys seeing designs become real, working machinery. This is a highly hands-on opportunity to influence equipment from mechanical design through fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and final execution. The engineer will work closely with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and other technical stakeholders, making practical design decisions that directly affect cost, buildability, schedule, and equipment performance. The environment is well suited to an engineer who wants meaningful ownership, direct access to the shop floor, and the opportunity to help a growing operation strengthen its engineering capabilities.This Role Offers:Hands-on ownership of mechanical engineering work tied directly to custom industrial equipment.A collaborative environment with close interaction between engineering and manufacturing.An opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing organization where engineering decisions matter.Benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a retirement contribution program.Focus:Own mechanical design work for custom industrial equipment from concept refinement through release for fabrication and assembly.Build and revise SolidWorks part and assembly models for machinery, tooling, structures, and related mechanical systems.Translate design intent into clear production drawings for machined, fabricated, welded, and assembled components.Develop and maintain bills of materials, drawing packages, revision records, and other engineering documentation needed for production.Partner directly with machinists, fabricators, welders, and assemblers to resolve questions and improve manufacturability.Evaluate design choices with attention to material cost, supplier lead times, fabrication effort, assembly sequence, schedule, and machine performance.Work with purchasing and outside suppliers to communicate technical requirements, obtain information, and address component or fabrication issues.Support engineering changes, troubleshooting, and design improvements as equipment moves through build and test.Contribute to project execution by keeping mechanical deliverables organized, accurate, and aligned with manufacturing priorities.Skill Set:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline.Professional experience designing custom or engineer-to-order industrial machinery, production equipment, automation equipment, or other capital equipment and supporting its physical build.Strong hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks for both part modeling and multi-component assemblies.Demonstrated ability to create, interpret, and revise engineering drawings and bills of materials.Working knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly methods.Comfort working directly with shop-floor manufacturing teams and resolving practical build issues.Ability to connect engineering decisions to downstream effects on sourcing, cost, fabrication, assembly, schedule, and equipment performance.Detail-oriented work habits with the ability to manage multiple engineering priorities in a hands-on manufacturing environment.Blue Signal is a leading executive search firm, specializing in engineering recruitment.
