As a non-profit, Friendship provides a caring community to serve a wide-range of residents including those with limited financial means.Friendship is looking for a Full Time Registered Occupational Therapist to join our Friendship Richfield Outpatient and Wellness Services team, located in Salem, VA. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for treating injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.Roles & Responsibilities:Execute goal-oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departmentsAdhere to departmental, organization and regulatory agency policies and proceduresAssess treatment plan progressions to identify any deficiencies and make adjustments as may be necessaryParticipate in program development, quality assurance and improvement effortsSupervise and collaborate with rehab aides/techs, OT/COTA students and others as assignedIdentify areas of opportunity to improve quality of care for residents and/or improve departmental operationsWork with other departments to provide the best care for each resident by identifying opportunities to cross-treatComply with all local, state, federal, and facility policies and proceduresQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required, Masters preferredOccupational Therapy license in the state of Virginia requiredExperience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferredThis position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
