Crew Leader Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Crew Leader will work side by side with the team to ensure assigned properties are following Focal Pointe standards. Responsible for the oversight of the ground crew. Crew Leader responsibilities include monitoring the health of all plants and greenspaces, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilizing, and mowing lawns, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. You should know how to use and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers and fertilizers, while following health and safety regulations.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position will oversee Landcare crew.Duties/Responsibilities:Install and maintain seasonal plantsMow, trim and fertilize green spacesMulch, edge and weed gardensPrune and trim trees and bushesMaintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowersMonitor and maintain the health of plantsDeal with pest problems that could damage plantsKeep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litterDirecting activities on the job siteManage personnel effectively and efficientlyTrain and promote company standardsMonitor all tools and equipment for maintenanceMaintain a clean and safe job site at all timesPerforms administrative functions pertaining to crew managementInteracts with clientele in order to help ensure job satisfactionConsistently on time and acting in a professional mannerParticipates in all safety training sessionsCommunicates effectively with crew, supervisor, and clientsAbility to work in all weather conditions for extended amounts of timeUltimately, you will make sure our gardens and green spaces are always healthy and beautiful.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:Familiarity with landscaping designExtensive knowledge of regional plant lifeKnowledge of local pests and how to eliminate themKnowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizersKnowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscapingA high school degree or GEDValid class E driver’s license with a clean driving recordBilingual preferable but not requireProficient equipment operating skills including but not limited to: lawn mowers, string trimmers, stick edges, and prunersKnowledge of perennials and shrubsHighly motivated and detail orientedGood time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitaskClean and professional appearancePhysical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the onsite Crew Leader.Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Stand for long periods of time.Walk or run for long periods of time.Repeat the same movements.Bend or twist their body.Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the armSee details of objects that are less than a few feet away.Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.Understand the speech of another person.See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.The employee will also be required to lift and move up to 25lbs.This job primarily operates in an outdoor setting.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position that is expected to work at assigned site. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 P.M., however some flexibility of the schedule is permissible with supervisor approval.
