Student Worker Position

Are you a current Inglewood Unified School District High School Student (Age 16+) looking to build real job skills, gain work experience, and positively impact your community—all while having fun? The District is excited to launch brand-new Student Worker positions supporting our After School Program in partnership with Conga Kids, a nationally recognized arts and dance enrichment program! This is your chance to grow, lead, and make a difference in the lives of younger students while exploring future career possibilities within the District!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Student Worker assigned to the Conga Kids After School Program, you will:

• Support program staff during high-energy dance, movement, and enrichment activities
• Assist with student supervision, attendance check-ins, transitions, and group support
• Help prepare materials, organize learning spaces, and set up activity stations
• Provide positive encouragement to students as they learn new dances and social-emotional skills
• Work with staff to keep the program running smoothly and safely
• Bring your creativity, leadership, and enthusiasm to a vibrant after-school environment!

You may also assist with general clerical, operational, or instructional tasks depending on program needs, helping you build a wide range of work-ready skills. Please see the Student Worker Job Description for more details.

Work Locations, Schedule, & Pay:

• Part-time, after school (3 pm - 5 pm)
• $18.80 hourly pay (Classified Salary Schedule: Range 001, Step 01)
• Days vary based on assignment and student worker statutory limits
• Assignments will be at selected IUSD school sites participating in the Conga Kids After School Program

Employment Standards

To qualify, you must:

• Be a current Inglewood USD high school student, age 16 or older
• Have a 2.5 GPA or higher
• Maintain 90% or better attendance
• Be dependable, positive, and ready to support a diverse community of students and staff

No prior job experience required—this is an entry-level opportunity! Students under 18 will need a valid California Work Permit (B1-4).

1. Download the Student Worker Teacher/Principal Recommendation Form and have at least two (2) teachers complete the form. One (1) of those teachers must be a current teacher. You will need to upload the completed recommendation forms to your application before you submit it.

   1. Teacher Recommendation Forms (2 - Completed Front & Back of Form)
   2. Most recent Report Card or Progress Report
   3. IMPORTANT: If the above documents are not submitted with the online application, the candidate will not pass the minimum requirements and will not be considered for the position.
3. Qualifying candidates will be invited to attend an interview preparation session and panel interviews.

Selected Students:

1. Selected students must commit to missing no more than two (2) work days during the Spring session.
2. The District will make every effort to match students with one of their top three preferred site assignments, as transportation will not be provided.
3. Students under 18 must submit a valid California Work Permit (B1-4).
4. The District will cover the cost for students to complete a Live Scan Background Check.
