Job Title: Acute MRI Technologist

Job Summary:
Performs MRI examinations for acute and hospitalized patients using specialized imaging equipment and established protocols. Ensures high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and appropriate MRI safety standards.

Education & Experience:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Radiologic Technology, MRI Technology, or a related field required.

• 1–2 years of MRI or acute-care imaging experience preferred.

• Experience working with critically ill or hospitalized patients is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• ARRT certification in MRI or equivalent MRI credential required.

• State radiologic technologist license required where applicable.

• BLS certification required.

• MRI safety training/certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.

• Screen patients for MRI safety, implants, contraindications, and relevant medical history.

• Position and monitor patients appropriately throughout MRI procedures.

• Operate MRI equipment and adjust imaging parameters to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

• Administer contrast agents when required and monitor patients for adverse reactions.

• Follow MRI safety, radiation/imaging, infection control, and patient privacy standards.

• Communicate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals and maintain accurate examination documentation.
