About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. - BLS and ACLS certification required. - AWHONN Intermediate required. Description: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience. Candidates should possess current BLS and ACLS certifications. Intermediate certification from AWHONN is required. Charge nurse experience is preferred. Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred. The patient ratio is typically 2 patients per nurse. Candidates must be proficient in various labor and delivery skills, including but not limited to, administration of blood products, amnioinfusion, and support for breastfeeding. Candidates should be familiar with high-risk deliveries and postpartum care. They must be able to assist with both vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. Knowledge of newborn assessment techniques is essential. Candidates should be capable of triaging obstetrical patients and managing complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams are crucial. Candidates should have experience in maternal-fetal monitoring and be comfortable with interventions related to labor and delivery processes. This role requires significant attention to detail and strong patient advocacy skills. Candidates will be expected to provide education to patients and families regarding childbirth and postpartum care. A commitment to high standards of care and patient safety is paramount in this role.
