Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices· Welcome patients and their family members as they arrive at the clinic· Answer multiple office lines· Schedule patient appointment· Validate/confirm patient appointment· Maintain the clerical work area clean and organized at all times· Locates and organizing patient records· Processing incoming and outgoing mail· Initiate the process insurance claims and confirm when clearance process· Order office supplies/equipment as needed· Knowledge of patient billing procedures, determine the financial status of patients and their eligibility for health services, assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms and documents for the required information· Collect and deposit fees according to protocols, prepare and balance daily financial registers and submit all forms and fees to the accounts department· Ability to lift 25 lbs· Performs other duties as assignedPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:· Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practice· Adhere to instructions issued by the department's leadership and perform duties in accordance with established DHR routines, methods and techniques, and in compliance with the recognized policies, procedures, standards and practices and within the state Regulatory Acts· Follows Standard Precautions, OSHA Guidelines and other specific precautions (i.e. MRSA, contact, respiratory) as necessary· Maintain organized, neat, adequate unit materials/supplies and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.· Prepares and maintains a record of observations and care given by documenting information clearly and completely utilizing correct forms in a timely manner· Assists with admissions to the unit, orients family members/responsible parties to the unit; provides hospitality to patients families/responsible parties· Maintain a safe, secure, comfortable environment for every patient· Properly and safely assists in moving/ transferring patients in wheelchairs and/or other equipment· Report accidents, with or without injury, promptly to immediate supervisor.· Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient populations and cultural diversity during the provision of patient care· Maintains and considers priorities according to procedure and physician's time and staffing requirements to meet the special needs of the patient, physician, and the hospital when scheduling appointments and oncology procedures.· Coordinates schedule assessing time and equipment availability, identifies conflicts and adjusts schedule as needed· Accurately facilitates and prepares the completion of the daily schedule for timely distribution.· Follows procedure for notification of changes in the schedule (e.g. cancellation).· Answers telephone and intercom with courteous and in a quiet, pleasant voice.· Assumes clerical assignments such as assisting in the registration process, patient financial clearance for treatments, processing physician orders, and maintain accurate patient charts.· Assists in department record keeping and tracking of patient volumes.· Coordinates end-of-day activity and reports with business office, medical records, and coding departments.· Ensures patient confidentiality requirements are met in accordance with HIPAA policies and procedures.· Other duties as assigned.LINES OF RESPONSIBILITY:(Chain-of-command)1.
