Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. You will perform computations, and other tasks, and report to the Center Administrator.Work location: CenterWell Apoka 1049 W. Orange Blossom Trail; Apopka, FL 32712The Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks such as:Document patient symptoms in EMRTake and record vital signsAdminister injectionsPerform diagnostic testsCollect specimens and draw bloodSterilize equipmentMaintain examination roomsOther tasks as assignedRequired:Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from ProviderHigh school diploma or equivalentCPR CertifiedPhlebotomy experienceThis role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TBPreferred:Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)Medication/vaccine administration experienceBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication1+ years MA experienceValue Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.Medical Assistant Working hours:Monday to Friday 8AM - 5PMScheduled 40 hours per weekLocal travel may be required; Mileage is reimbursedThis role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
