About ZL Chemicals Ltd.

ZL Chemicals Ltd. is a dynamic and rapidly growing international chemical manufacturing company providing high-performance polymer solutions to customers across Canada, the United States, and the Gulf region.

Driven by innovation, safety, and collaboration, we are committed to delivering exceptional product quality and service excellence while fostering a professional, supportive, and growth-oriented work environment.

Position Summary

The EOR Field Deployment Supervisor will serve as the primary onsite representative for ZL Chemicals during the deployment of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) chemical technologies at active wellsites. This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all field operations related to chemical injection, pressure pumping, flowback, equipment mobilization, and operational logistics while ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project procedures, customer requirements, and company HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating day-to-day oilfield operations at active wellsites, preferably involving pressure pumping, chemical injection, stimulation, EOR, flowback, or production operations.
  • Strong field leadership capability with the ability to act as the primary onsite representative for the company during deployment operations.
  • Experience coordinating and directing multiple subcontractors simultaneously, including pressure pumping crews, chemical delivery providers, equipment rental companies, trucking vendors, and field service providers.
  • Ability to manage operational execution at the well pad level while maintaining clear communication with the operators onsite representatives, company men, production teams, and field supervisors.
  • Strong understanding of wellsite operational workflows including rig-up, pressure testing, chemical loading, pumping operations, flowback operations, demobilization, and operational reporting.
  • Experience overseeing safe handling and deployment of oilfield chemicals, including bulk liquid transfers, ISO tanks, chemical injection systems, and hazardous material controls.
  • Practical understanding of pressure pumping operations including pumps, treating iron, manifolds, valves, separators, frac tanks, and high-pressure safety requirements.
  • Ability to monitor field execution activities to ensure subcontractors perform work in accordance with operational procedures, safety requirements, and project schedules.
  • Experience coordinating operational logistics at the wellsite, including equipment arrivals, trucking schedules, chemical deliveries, fuel coordination, and personnel movements.
  • Strong problem-solving capability in live operational environments with the ability to respond quickly to equipment failures, changing well conditions, weather impacts, scheduling conflicts, or chemical performance issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and customer representatives while maintaining professional relationships during high-pressure operational activities.
  • Experience conducting and participating in pre-job meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, and operational coordination meetings.
  • Strong working knowledge of oilfield HSE requirements including pressure safety, chemical handling, line-of-fire hazards, spill prevention, lockout/tagout, and stop-work authority procedures.
  • Ability to monitor field data, operational performance, pumping rates, pressures, chemical injection rates, and flowback trends during active operations.
  • Experience documenting field activities including operational reports, job tickets, incident reports, chemical usage records, and daily progress updates.
  • Ability to enforce operational discipline and ensure subcontractors comply with project procedures, safety expectations, and customer site requirements.
  • Experience supporting troubleshooting of flowback issues including foaming, emulsions, solids handling, chemical compatibility, or separator performance.
  • Comfortable working extended hours at remote wellsite locations and supporting continuous operations where required.
  • Preference for candidates with hands-on field execution and operational supervision experience rather than office-only project coordination experience.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of field operations experience in oil & gas
  • Hands-on experience with chemical treatments / pressure pumping
  • Experience working on-site at well locations
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in dynamic field environments

Please note: this role requires genuine well-site field operations experience. Candidates whose background is limited to EPC, construction, infrastructure, or office-based project management without direct oilfield field execution exposure will not be considered.

Key Competencies

  • Hands-on execution mindset and comfort working in the field
  • Ability to operate effectively under uncertain and fast-changing conditions
  • Strong ownership and accountability for outcomes
  • Ability to influence field teams and drive adoption of new technologies
  • High learning agility and adaptability

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance-based bonus tied to deployment and operational success
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Travel and field support expenses covered
  • Opportunity to grow with a high-impact, technology-driven organization

This role is ideal for:

  • Field engineers or operations leaders from pressure pumping, chemical services, or EOR looking to move into technology deployment and ownership
  • Experienced field operators from smaller regional service companies who are used to working lean, making decisions independently, and getting things done without layers of approval
  • Individuals who want direct involvement in bringing a new technology to market, not managing a process someone else built, but building the process themselves

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.
