Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Varies based on facility needs (may include on-call responsibilities) About the Role A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department and ensure the safe, efficient function of the facility’s physical plant and environmental systems. This is a confidential search for a leader who can maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repair of building systems and facility grounds Coordinate and schedule repairs with external vendors when necessary Ensure continuous operation of utility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs Manage departmental budget and monitor expenditures Maintain compliance with fire life safety codes, water regulations, and applicable safety standards Supervise maintenance staff and support team development Maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept environment for staff and residents Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational planning Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school preferred Minimum of 5 years of building maintenance experience Prior supervisory experience preferred Experience in healthcare or long-term care settings is highly preferred Valid driver’s license required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems Familiarity with building codes, OSHA standards, and safety regulations Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team Strong communication skills across all levels of an organization Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements This role requires regular standing, walking, lifting, and working in environments that may include exposure to weather conditions, chemicals, and mechanical systems.
