RN MedSurg PCU Nights

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the PCU/MedSurg/Tele unit on the night shift is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients, performing charge nurse duties, and working independently. The role includes floating to other units such as the Emergency Department and Maternal Child Health as needed. This position requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Vermont.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in MedSurg, PCU, or Telemetry.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and perform charge nurse responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile if required for field work.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in critical access or small hospital settings.
• Familiarity with Emergency Department and Maternal Child Health nursing.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS or Telemetry nursing certification.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work every other weekend as part of the rotation.
• Night shift position requiring flexibility and stamina.
• Floating to other units may be required based on hospital needs.
• Work environment includes critical access hospital setting with a 25-bed capacity.

Scheduling:

• Night shift schedule with every other weekend rotation.
• Shift assignments and floating duties determined by unit needs and management.
