Commercial Operations Specialist

The Dispatch is hiring a Commercial Operations Specialist to own the execution of our commercial partnerships. This is not a sales role. Once a partnership is signed, this person will own what comes next: campaign setup, creative and script workflow, delivery, reporting, and the day-to-day partner servicing that turns a first campaign into a renewal.

Our commercial portfolio spans newsletter sponsorships, podcast advertising, SCOTUSblog, events, and more. Campaigns can range from one week to one year or longer, each with its own creative, schedule, delivery targets, and reporting requirements. Precision matters in this work, and it compounds. We're looking for someone who can own it without day-to-day oversight—a well-organized candidate with a bias toward action who finds satisfaction in a well-built system and a quarter where nothing slipped.

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree
• One or two years in operations, campaign management, account coordination, project management, or a comparable detail-heavy role—ideally at a small or fast-moving organization.
• Genuine comfort with detail work. A meaningful share of this job is precise, repetitive, and behind the scenes—and all of it is mission-critical.
• The ability to hold many deadlines at once without dropping any of them, and to reset priorities when they shift.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach. You'll work closely with our team, but you'll be trusted to run your book without close supervision.
• Fluency with spreadsheets, and the ability to pick up new platforms quickly and on your own.
• A client-focused instinct. Partners should come away feeling well served, and come back because of it.

Helpful, but not required

• Familiarity with podcast advertising, digital advertising, or event sponsorship
• Hands-on experience with ad-serving, podcast-hosting, or campaign-management platforms

Location Washington, D.C., preferred. This role benefits from close, in-person collaboration with our team, and we have a strong preference for candidates who can work from our office. We'll consider exceptional remote candidates.
