APP Cardiology NP or PA-C - Kalamazoo, MI

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing cardiology team. The APP will work closely with our cardiologists in managing a diverse cardiovascular patient population. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions Hospital rounding and/or outpatient clinic coverage Patient education and risk factor modification Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff on care plans Participate in call rotation Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and examinations Interpret laboratory and radiologic tests and formulate diagnosis Develop treatment plans within scope of practice Use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, using SBAR Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team to implement patient progress toward outcomes Utilize quality measures and evidence in clinical practice Perform utilization review, assessing intensity of service, transfer to hospital Evaluate and manage patients, labs, EKGs, imaging studies Prepare billing and medical documentation, orders, progress notes Be available for nursing questions and patient status changes Qualifications Current Michigan NP or PA license Board certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) Cardiology experience preferred (new grads with high interest encouraged) Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Prescriptive authority and collaborative agreement with oversight physician(s) in place Maintain all medical staff privilege requirements Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Monthly productivity incentive bonus opportunity Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with employer contribution CME allowance and paid CME time Malpractice coverage Generous PTO Location BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan Schedule Full time, 40 hours per week, variable shift. #J-18808-Ljbffr
