Alameda County Phone System Update Technician

Onsite work in Alameda County, California

Contract - 3 months with potential to extend

Overview:

• We need up to 4 tier 1 techs, with some telecom experience preferred. They must be willing to commute all throughout Alameda County, CA. Drive time and mileage will be expensed.
• C1 was hired by the County of Alameda to go through all government locations within the country to support a phone system update.
• Work with C1 remote engineer and site staff to locate inactive phone extensions at each location.
• Document findings in online portal and send out nightly summary to assigned project leadership.
• They will go through these locations with testing equipment and look through every phone that is still active but not being used and cannot be located. Try to identify what extension is tied to it and document it based on location.
• Some sites have 3 or 4 devices, some sites, like city hall, that have over 400 that need to be tracked down.
• Hiring manager current ITLS techs will be going out the week of the 3/24 that will be running a pulmonary job discovery and building a process for it.
• They will return for two weeks and hiring manager intends on sending them back up on the week of the 4/21 - the manager would like to have 4 contractors in place to support them.
• The manager’s team will be there for two weeks straight and the plan is to turn the work over to the 4 contractors.
• This will be all over Alameda County, there is expectation that they meet the team at the site.
• Alamita City hall will be their general location, they will then be paid from that location once the projects start. Possibility they will be going to multiple sites in one day.
• The manager wants to start and finish with the same team, we need highly reliable folks.
• Since it's all within the same county, distances are not great but if there is a location with 10 devices (1 hour) they will try to build a schedule of 8 hours in one day in the same area. Some sites will be revisited 2-3 days in a row due to the amount of work.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience as a Tier 1 Network Technician
• Telecom understanding
• All analog - converting to Avaya, any Avaya experience is a plus!
• No re-wires, no training, just trying to find phantom phone numbers
• Knows how to plug a phone in, knows how to dial
• Knows how to troubleshoot phones if there is any issues
• Basic customer service skills, hey don't need to interact with end users, just able to communicate what they are there to do and explain they will test it
