Position Summary Reporting to the Office Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports providers (physicians, nurse practitioners & physician assistants) in provision of patient care; including but not limited to recording vital signs, discussing and documenting health concerns, performing tests & administering injections. The ideal candidate will have professional and sympathetic bedside manner. How You’ll Make an Impact Escort patient to examination rooms Prepare patients for examination; capture all vital signs & other key indicators as directed, utilizing universal precautions Gather information and patient history including lab work and support triage using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Perform tests and/or procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, urinalysis, vision screening, rapid strep tests, rapid flu swabs, urine pregnancy tests, draws blood, ear washes, glucometer testing, etc.) Provide patient immunizations or injections as specified by the provider Obtain prior authorization for medications as needed Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies Maintain cleanliness of work area, straightens up & restocks exam rooms on a daily basis Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety & environmental practices Process prescription refill requests Responsible for ensuring OSHA manual is up to date and that all staff receive annual training What You Must Bring to This Role High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience - required Unrestricted NYS Licensed Practical Nurse - required Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with patients, physicians & other staff members - required Demonstrated leadership adopting Medical Technology/Information Technology - required Experience e-prescribing medications or calling in pharmacy requests - required Track record of absolute intolerance for tardiness, absenteeism and professionally immature behavior - required Working knowledge and understanding of clinical organization structure, workflow & operating procedures - required Experience in patient information gathering, evaluation and triage procedures - required Proven success in the ability to read, understand, follow & enforce safety procedures - required Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations & procedures - required A history of excellence in communication; active listening, written communication and problem solving - required Strong interpersonal skills & a history of effectively working across a wide range of individuals – required Prior experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) - preferred Compensation, Benefits & Fun Stuff An easy to access office less than 2-minutes from NY I87 exit-12 Competitive salary Comprehensive medical & dental plan (full-time employees) 401k Paid Time Off (full-time employees) Paid holidays (full-time employees) Working Conditions & Physical Efforts Work is performed under stressful conditions, and irregular hours in an office work environment Intellectually intense, fasted paced and often changing environment May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
