Machinist

The Machinist sets up, operates, and maintains machining equipment to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. This role monitors machining processes, inspects finished components, interprets blueprints and technical drawings, and follows all safety and shop guidelines while supporting a small, specialized machining environment.

• Set up and operate manual machining equipment, including mills and lathes, to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Monitor machining processes throughout production runs to ensure parts meet dimensional, quality, and performance requirements.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify adherence to tolerances and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements and appropriate setups.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including daily cleaning, lubrication, and basic upkeep to ensure reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust machine settings, and make necessary corrections to improve part quality and process efficiency.
• Perform changeovers and set up new jobs efficiently, ensuring accurate tooling, fixturing, and program adjustments as required.
• Follow and enforce all safety protocols, shop procedures, and equipment operating guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members in the machining department to support production schedules and resolve technical issues.
• Complete additional duties as assigned within the machining department to support overall operations and workflow.

• At least 3 years of experience as a machinist, including operating and programming machining equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers for quality inspection.
• Hands-on experience operating manual mills and lathes.
• Manual machining skills with a solid understanding of mechanical principles.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machining and equipment issues.
• Knowledge of lathe operation and basic programming for machining processes.
• Ability to perform changeovers and set up machines for different jobs.
• Capability to lift up to 25 lbs as part of daily shop activities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hortonville, WI.

The pay range for this position is $66000.00 - $66000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
