Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown position requiring an active IL RN license and previous stepdown experience.

Details

• Cardiac Stepdown Unit within a hospital setting
• 1:7 patient ratio
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the same discipline across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, with IA license (or compact) application in process at time of offer
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of previous stepdown experience required
• Experience managing chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
• Experience with medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban, including some titration
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission required
• One supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment/contract required
• Driver's license or proof of permanent residency required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide professional clinical care to patients as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Level 1 trauma center environment
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
