We're looking for you to become a valued member of the healthcare team at our client's medical facility!Pay Rate: $65/hour *1099Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunchCandidate Requirements:Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. stateAvailable for the required assignment periodAble to work onsite in a federal correctional facilityAble to pass BOP security clearance and drug screeningCopy of pharmacist licenseDiploma and academic transcriptsApplicable education and training credentialsTwo professional reference lettersClear NPDB reportVerification of professional or medical liability insuranceDuties:Screens drug orders for drug interactions and incompatibilitiesScreens outpatient prescriptions for billing information and whether or not the prescription can be filled depending upon the patient's financial categoryConsults with physicians as necessary to clarify medication ordersInstructs patients on proper use of their medicationsPrepares and dispenses drugs and pharmaceutical preparationsFills prescriptionsAssists in ward inspectionsChecks the work of Pharmacy Technician as requiredUpdates reference books, treatment authorization requests and non-formulary drug listsBills medication administration recordsAssists with chart reviews and auditsCoordinates medication borrowing procedures from other hospitals on weekends and holidaysNotifies appropriate persons when stock levels become lowCompletes daily I.V. rounds, checks patient profiles, keeps/updates I.V. admixture patient profile records and compounds, chemotherapy I.V.'sKeeps records of drugs, poisons and narcotics as required by federal and state lawAccompanies physicians on medical and surgical rounds as time permitsMaintains and keeps in clean and orderly condition the drug and chemical supplies of the pharmacyLicensed Pharmacist Benefits:Health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance401k retirement planCompetitive pay packagesWeekly payTravel stipends are available for qualified candidatesIf interested, please apply through this job post.
