Job Summary Under the general direction of the Director of Investigations, University investigators independently investigate allegations that faculty, other academic appointees, staff members, and students have violated University policy. This includes conducting highly sensitive, critical, confidential, and time‑sensitive investigations, including at other UC locations. University investigators conduct interviews, collect and review material evidence, and prepare high quality written reports. In their reports, investigators summarize and analyze the evidence, then reach factual and policy findings. Apply By Date June 2, 2026 at 11:59pm Applicants will be screened on a weekly basis. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training. 1–3 years of experience conducting administrative investigations into complex matters, such as allegations of sexual harassment or police misconduct. Demonstrated experience preparing thorough, neutral, and well‑written reports that make factual findings and discuss relevant laws or policies. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices and methodologies for conducting investigations, including interviewing witnesses and analyzing evidence. Demonstrated oral communication abilities, including skill and experience interacting with constituents who are diverse in characteristics such as age, education level, race, ability, socioeconomic background, and gender identity and expression. Preferred Qualifications Juris Doctor degree. Experience independently investigating complex and sensitive allegations in a University setting. Two years of experience investigating allegations of sexual harassment. Experience applying the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights (POBR) in an investigation setting.
