JOB SUMMARY: Warehouse Clerks are important to our distribution center operations, performing a range of job functions to ensure the right products are available at our stores. Associates in this role are assigned a variety of responsibilities based on skill, experience, and dynamic business needs. Success requires the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, balancing productivity, safety, and good judgment in line with company policies and procedures.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS: The Warehouse Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our warehouse facility. You will be responsible for various tasks related to inventory management, shipping, receiving, and maintaining accurate records of warehouse activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Payroll

• Reviews timeclock punches for accuracy and correct tracking of work hours performed by warehouse staff.

Shipping

• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to order specification.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.

Receiving

• Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks using forklifts or other equipment as needed.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and accurately record received items into the inventory system.
• Maintain organized and clean warehouse space to facilitate efficient workflow and safe working conditions.

Order Processor

• Collaborate with other team members to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.

Inventory Control

• Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Verifies pick and reserve locations, confirms accuracy of reported inventory, and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a distribution environment is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Three years or more of relevant experience in using warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks is preferred.
• Must be able to work in a multi-temperature environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Warehouse experience in high volume food service, distribution, logistics, or equivalent is preferred.
• Familiarity with food safety and/or OSHA standards is desired.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS: RFS scan gun, electric pallet jack, forklifts, and safety boots. Uniforms will be supplied (Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, and Gloves)

WORKING AROUND MOVING MACHINERY: Stand-up and sit-down forklifts, electric hand jacks, trucks at the loading docks.

MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS: Supermarket warehouse materials and food products associated with a supermarket distribution center.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The warehouse is considered a standard, multi-temperature warehouse environment where temperatures vary considerably:

• General indoor warehouse temperature is partially dependent upon the outdoor temprature.
• Produce refrigerated coolers are maintained at 40-45 degrees.
• Refigerated coolers are maintained between 0 and 25 degrees.
• Some of the cold environments require special uniforms.

COMPENSATION: The hourly range for this position is $22.00 to $28.75 per hour. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications; including, experience and relevant skills.
