This role could be positioned in either our Charlotte, Greenville, Nashville, or Raleigh office. If so,we would love to hear from you!Responsibilities#LI-JR1#LI-HybridDevelop and sustain excellent customer relationships with some of the top real estate companies in our marketCollaborate with team members across the Firm to solve complex customer scenariosDevelop anticipatory skills to advise customers through times of disruption and uncertaintyAnalyze and observe industry trends impacting customers and create solutions to propel them forward. Perform technical review of tax returns with varying complexityIdentify and recommend creative solutions to complex customer issuesDelegate and manage tax and research assignments to achieve an accurate and efficient productReview operating agreements, letters of intent, purchase agreements, and other legal documentation related to tax transactionsReview and develop work papers to support partnership allocations, basis adjustments, and tax transactions.Perform administrative duties relative to the positionMonitor economic performance of engagements, including billing and collectionsSchedule smooth system flow of tax returnsLead from within for team engagement, providing guidance on various projects and assignmentsMaintain familiarity with team’s qualifications and growth opportunities, reviewing assignments for appropriatenessProvide effective performance feedback and on-the-job training, celebrating and awarding excellence in performanceCoach and train employees to their maximum potential, providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities throughout the yearDevelop future leaders and life-long learnersAttract and retain top talent by taking an active role in engaging your team throughout their careerDiscover opportunities to provide additional services and pursue new leadsCollaborate cross-functionally within the firm to grow existing business and offer a variety of business solutions to customers and prospectsRepresent Elliott Davis in the business community and be active within professional organizationsBe an active member of the local community by giving back and through service to othersRequirementsMinimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s in Tax preferred5+ years of recent public accounting firm experience, including managing multiple real estate tax projects and customer engagements.Experience developing team members, assigning projects, and managing workflowSignificant experience working within the real estate industry and on all types of entity and individual taxes, especially partnershipsExperience analyzing the distribution and profit/loss language in Operating AgreementsCPA certificationAbility to multitaskExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDesire to learn and ability to embrace changeWHY YOU SHOULD JOIN USWe believe that when our employees are able to thrive in all facets of life, their work and impact are that much greater.That's right – all aspects of life, not just your life as an employee, because we understand that there's life beyond your job.
