Harm Reduction Specialist Wellness Programs Full Time Baltimore, MD, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1001 Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually Harm Reduction Specialist Pride Center of Maryland (PCOM) Location: Baltimore, Maryland Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $45,000–$55,000 annually Position Summary The Pride Center of Maryland seeks a compassionate, community-focused Harm Reduction Specialist to provide education, outreach, and individualized support to people affected by substance use and related health risks. This position connects participants with resources and services while promoting dignity, informed choices, and access to care, including within LGBTQ/SGL communities. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized harm reduction support and assist participants with developing care plans based on their needs and goals. Educate participants about safer substance use, overdose prevention, safer sex, and overall wellness. Distribute harm reduction supplies, including naloxone, sterile syringes, and condoms, in accordance with program procedures. Connect participants with medical care, substance use services, mental health support, and other community resources. Conduct community outreach, educational workshops, and participant engagement activities. Build relationships with community organizations and service providers to strengthen referrals and access to services. Maintain accurate, confidential participant records and complete required data collection and program reports. Advocate for participants and help address barriers to receiving services. Collaborate with staff and support training on harm reduction practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. At least two years of experience in harm reduction, substance use services, mental health services, or a related field. Knowledge of harm reduction principles and overdose prevention. Experience with community outreach and participant education. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Experience working with LGBTQ/SGL communities and people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain confidentiality and engage participants respectfully and without judgment. Work Environment and Schedule This position includes office-based work and community outreach. Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required for program activities and events.
