Wellness Director

The Wellness Director in Training (WDIT) is a leadership development role designed for licensed nurses interested in advancing into a Wellness Director position within senior living. Working alongside experienced clinical leaders, the WDIT gains hands-on experience in clinical operations, team leadership, regulatory compliance, resident care management, and wellness program oversight. This role offers a structured pathway to develop the skills needed to lead a wellness team while ensuring exceptional, resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured leadership development program focused on clinical operations, compliance, and team management.
• Support and learn daily Wellness Department operations, including staffing, scheduling, and care coordination.
• Assist with resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Gain knowledge of state and federal regulations and support survey readiness and documentation compliance.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality resident care.
• Participate in staff training, coaching, and team development activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs and services.
• Support operational processes, including staffing plans, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Engage in ongoing professional development in leadership, geriatric care, and clinical best practices.

Qualifications

• Current RN, LPN, or LVN license required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in senior living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting.
• Strong leadership potential and desire to advance into a Wellness Director role.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel within the assigned region, if required.

Physical & Work Requirements

This position requires regular movement throughout the community, the ability to assist residents when needed, and the capability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Team members may be exposed to healthcare-related environmental and infectious disease risks consistent with senior living and healthcare settings.
