Join us! Job Summary and Qualifications The Trauma Step Down/Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the Trauma PCU RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The Trauma PCU RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role: Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response. Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. Some career growth opportunities in this role: Hospital sponsored opportunity to obtain the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification Hospital sponsored opportunity to obtain the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certifications Board (MSNCB) - FailSafe Certification Program for CMSRN exam or other relevant Certifications with monetary incentives What qualifications you will need: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required - ok to be obtained within 30 days of transfer/hire At least 6 months previous RN work experience required This is a Full Time, Night Shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Rotating Weekends and Holidays are required.
