Resource Specialist

Dutchess BOCES is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist to facilitate professional development through workshops, consultancies, roundtables, and in-district training as assigned throughout Dutchess County. The primary goal of this position is to provide direct, in-district technical assistance, professional learning, and system design support as school teams transition through the planning, installation, and implementation phases of NY Inspires. The ideal candidate will bridge state-level expectations with local execution, working directly with district leadership, building-level teams, and interdisciplinary educators across the county. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Full-time, 12-month, tenure track assignment. Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Full complement of health benefits REPORTS TO: Director of Educational Resources SUPERVISES: N/A QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES Holds current NYS Teaching Certificate SAS/SDA/SDL certification preferred 5+ years of teaching experience DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Knowledge of NY Inspires, including but not limited to the NYS Portrait of a Graduate framework, CSRE Framework, performance-based learning and assessment, and competency-based education Strong skills in designing rubrics, performance-based learning and assessments (PBLA), and interdisciplinary units Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including representatives from NYSED, component superintendents, assistant superintendents, curriculum leaders, teachers, and paraprofessionals, and BOCES employees Exceptional facilitation, coaching, communication, and project management skills Serve as an in-district partner to school leadership teams to evaluate needs, design tailored implementation plans, and guide system rollouts Facilitate and/or conduct local audits of assessments, K-12 curricula, instructional practices, and graduation pathways to identify gaps and redundancies Assist districts in establishing clear stakeholder communication plans and align K-12 course catalogs and master scheduling to graduation requirements Design, coordinate, and deliver targeted professional learning for both internal and external educators on key transformational topics, including: NY Inspires overviews and NYSED policy updates Competency-based education and authentic performance-based learning and assessments Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education and Social-Emotional Learning integration Integration of required instructional objectives for Personal Finance Education and Climate Education NY Learning Standards, including content, technology, and social-emotional learning standards Co-design of Performance-based assessments, Interdisciplinary Units, Rubrics, and/or County-wide Seals Building competency pathways for internal and external schools Provide instructional coaching across disciplines, including support for teacher teams, paraprofessionals, and cross-curricular instructional practices implementation Facilitate targeted roundtable discussions to share effective instructional practices and co-design units and assessments Participate in regional and state-wide collaboratives Attend and participate in continuing professional learning opportunities EVALUATION: Director of Educational Resources SALARY: $110,000 - $117,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
