Job Summary : The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. The HR Director will support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of the company's strategy and objectives. This role involves managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and talent management. Has one direct report who handles the ADP payroll administration. 100 FT employees and 250+ FT temps.
Responsibilities :
- Recruitment and Staffing :
o Perform full-cycle recruiting and develop workforce strategies to attract qualified candidates for manufacturing, lab, and office
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their staffing needs and job specifications.
- Employee Relations :
- Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related queries and issues.
- Promote a positive work environment and address employee concerns promptly.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in accordance with company policies.
- Performance Management :
- Develop and implement performance management systems and processes.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to employees.
- Training and Development :
o Perform annual sexual harassment/safety training and maintain training logs
- Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
- Compliance and Legal :
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Manage statutory and voluntary employee benefits programs, including workers’ compensation and unemployment.
- Compensation and Benefits :
- Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay structures.
- HR Policies and Procedures :
- Update HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure that HR policies are communicated and adhered to by all employees.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes and practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- HR Metrics and Reporting :
- Maintain HR records and generate reports on HR metrics such as employee turnover, recruitment, and performance.
- Use HR data to identify trends and recommend improvements to HR processes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience as an HR Director or similar role (5+ years of experience preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software (ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Bilingual English-Spanish is desired.

- Office with large manufacturing environment.
