Accounts Payable Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and team-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead day-to-day accounts payable operations. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of AP Specialists, ensuring accurate month-end closes, maintaining robust internal controls, and driving process efficiencies within a high-volume corporate environment. Responsibilities Own end-to-end AP disbursements, including electronic payments, checks, independent contractors, and tax payments on a timely schedule. Manage corporate expense report policy compliance and review submission guidelines. Lead the AP month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger postings. Monitor key operational metrics, including aging reports, payment accuracy, and processing exception rates. Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of AP professionals, fostering a service-oriented mindset and culture of accountability. Oversee team workload distribution, performance tracking, and professional development. Continuously evaluate and optimize AP workflows and system capabilities to support organizational scale. Maintain strict adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and segregation of duties. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits and annual 1099 filing preparation. Act as a cross-functional liaison for Finance, Procurement, and key business stakeholders. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field (preferred). Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounts payable or general accounting experience. Leadership: 1–3 years of supervisory, team lead, or senior-level oversight experience managing team workflows or direct reports. Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate internal controls (SOX environment preferred) and 1099 processes. Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation across multiple workbooks). Hands‑on experience with mid‑to‑large tier ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
