Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner

A nonprofit services organization in the Bronx, NY is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric assessment, treatment, and ongoing care in a collaborative behavioral health setting. This role offers the opportunity to support patients through comprehensive clinical evaluation, medication management, and multidisciplinary care coordination.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Hours: 35 hours per week, standard business hours
• Setting: In-person clinical setting

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients referred for psychiatric services.
• Provide continuing psychiatric care and make appropriate disposition recommendations.
• Prescribe and manage medication regimens in accordance with psychiatric standards and regulations.
• Conduct physical examinations, review medical histories, and order and interpret laboratory tests as needed.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and clinical updates in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
• At least 1 year of experience working with dually diagnosed substance abuse and psychiatric patients.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and make independent clinical decisions.
