Production First Line Supervisor

Position Overview: The Production First Line Supervisor (FLS) at Chemours’ Titanium Technology facility in New Johnsonville, TN, leads frontline hourly employees to safely produce high quality products while achieving daily production goals. The role balances safety, quality, delivery and cost while coaching employees and maintaining a strong safety culture. Responsibilities Lead by example to promote a strong safety culture; conduct safety observations, toolbox talks, and incident follow‑ups. Ensure work complies with OSHA, PSM, and company standards. Effectively communicate site directions to the team, ensuring alignment with production schedule. Coordinate equipment readiness for scheduled maintenance, including cleanliness, decontamination, lock‑out procedures and required permits. Oversee and coordinate contract operations within the assigned area to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution. Coordinate daily work schedules, assign duties and maintain adequate staffing to manage fluctuating workloads. Facilitate Visual Performance Management activities and problem solving with team members. Ensure employees follow established Maintenance Work Management Process and early work identification procedures. Interface with Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance or Production Supervisors, Planning Groups, and Manufacturing Technical Engineers on priorities and needs. Participate in investigations of quality, uptime, safety and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Conditions, including ISO related components. Monitor and adjust controllable manufacturing costs (overtime, supplies, waste reduction). Complete Leader Standard Work, including line walks, coaching, shift notes, turnover documentation, and timekeeping. Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals. Initiate awards and recognition process for individuals and teams. Organize and manage staffing levels to support production needs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. 3‑4 years of experience in an industrial or production‑related role with demonstrated ability to motivate, train and lead employees. Strong safety mindset and willingness to hold self and others accountable. Ability to make timely, accurate decisions in a fast‑paced environment using good reasoning and data analysis. Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays; respond to plant emergencies as needed. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds routinely and up to 55 pounds occasionally. Ability to read and interpret various plans and designs. Knowledge of chemical operations and safety. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and related programs). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Vocational or associate’s degree in relevant field. Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean certification. PSM Training and/or experience. Operations, scheduling, and planning experience. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems. Experience with chemical industry emergency response processes. Benefits Competitive compensation.
