Position Overview
Salary Range: $19.9580 - $23.0720/hour. Salary reflects Step 4 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education, experience, and training.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties involved in the enforcement of City parking regulations; and provides general information and assistance to the public.
Scope of Responsibility:

Incumbent follows prescribed procedures in performing duties. Working with readily available supervision, incumbent performs work according to clearly defined principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Enforce Parking Regulations

• Monitors and patrols designated areas including commercial areas and neighborhoods.
• Issues citations as required for parking infractions.
• Appropriately handles disputes and complaints with disgruntled vehicle owners.
• Ensures safety in Parking Zones such as fire lanes and handicap spaces.
• Uses technology in parking enforcement from modern tools like handheld devices and software programs.

Customer Service

• Educates the public on parking regulations in a courteous manner.
• Assists with traffic control when needed to improve safety and flow of traffic.

Record Keeping

• Collects and assists in processing parking violation payments.
• Completes necessary paperwork such as notice of violation forms.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year experience in cash handling and customer service
• A valid Montana driver's license or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, and movement. Work requires frequent moderate physical effort moving between 5 and 25 pounds. Work requires high attention to detail or deadlines frequently (between 45% and 70% of the time). There is occasional exposure (between 15% and 45% of the time) to multiple disagreeable elements, such as odor, angry public, or unpleasant weather conditions.
